Launching on the 13th of March, the Greenock Telegraph will be distributing bags in their newspaper which readers can then fill with items and donate to their local foodbank.
CCG Homes is one of six firms to provide £2500 sponsorship, including local businesses such as Green Oak Funeral Services and the national car dealer, Arnold Clark.
CCG Homes has built up a relationship with the local community with our development of new homes known as The Scholars located on the former Greenock Academy site.
Chris Murray, development and marketing manager for the CCG Group, said: “CCG was already familiar with Inverclyde having undertaken various projects with housing associations and the Council over a number of years.
These projects helped deliver various community-based initiatives so when we came back with CCG Homes and The Scholars, we have always looked towards new opportunities to give back and we are delighted to be supporting this campaign.”
Chris said it was important for CCG Homes and the wider community to support the Tele campaign and the foodbank in any way they can.
He added: “Foodbanks offer people much-needed breathing space in times of personal crisis and it is vital that we not only raise awareness, but encourage people to donate in any way they can.
“I think it is important to remember as a construction company and developer, it is not only about the bricks and mortar, it’s about leaving a positive legacy in the community.
This initiative will hopefully do that – certainly, the concept is great as I think putting something tangible like the donation bag within the newspaper will encourage people to use it and perhaps hold on to it to donate again in the future.
“We are proud to be working in the Inverclyde community and have taken great pleasure in meeting people interested in our development and we look forward to the weeks and months ahead.”
